Electric vehicle charging at home
You could get a £500 grant
What happens next?
How much does an EV charger cost?
We’re working with European charge point manufacturer, Alfen, to offer you the 7.4 kW Eve Mini. The Eve Mini is compact and modern and comes with a three-year warranty so you’re protected.
The charger costs £875, including Standard Installation but if you receive the OLEV grant this will take the total cost down to £375.
What is the OLEV grant for electric vehicles?
Reduce the cost of installing your charge point by £500 with the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) grant.
How do you qualify for the grant?
- Own, lease or have ordered an eligible electric vehicle
- Or have bought/leased your electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle after 1st October 2016
- Have private dedicated off-street parking
- Have not already claimed the grant or exceeded the limit of two OLEV funded charge points per household.
What is Standard Installation for EV charge points?
Standard installation includes installation of your selected charge point on a brick or plaster wall connected to your property, a maximum run of 15m of cable from the wall-mounted position to your consumer unit (fuse box), with no civil or remedial electrical work needed.
The cable to the charge point will be neatly clipped flush to the wall or in conduit. A dedicated earthing spike will also be installed. We’ll also wire your charger back to your router using ethernet cable.
My vehicle is only capable of charging at 3.7 kW, why do you only offer a 7.4 kW home charger?
7.4 kW (32A) is the fastest charger that can be installed on the single phase electric supply found in most British homes. While some vehicles are limited to slower charging rates, they can still be connected to 7.4 kW fast charger as the vehicle on-board charge controller will only charge up to its maximum charging rate. We only offer a 7.4 kW charger as these will ‘future proof’ your installation, allowing for changes to your electric vehicle.
